Concaso for law firms
Start every first conversation better prepared.
Concaso helps organize the facts, parties, documents and objectives behind a prospective matter before the first conversation—so lawyers can spend more of that conversation understanding the client and less of it collecting basic information.
Better intake. Still human.
Built for firms that want better information before the first call.
The first conversation matters.
The first conversation with a prospective client is more than data collection. It is where lawyers begin to understand the client, exercise judgment, establish trust and determine whether the firm is the right fit.
But too much of that conversation can be consumed by information that could have been organized beforehand.
Concaso is designed to prepare the conversation—not replace it.
- Who are the parties?
- What happened?
- What does the client need?
- What documents already exist?
- Are there important deadlines?
- What jurisdiction is involved?
- What stage is the matter at?
Prepare the conversation. Then let it happen.
- 01
A prospective client reaches out
The initial interaction stays deliberately light. The prospective client explains, in their own words, what they need help with—no lengthy questionnaire standing between them and the firm.
- 02
Concaso asks only what is useful beforehand
Based on the inquiry, a limited amount of matter-specific information can be collected: relevant parties and conflict names, jurisdiction, important dates, the client's objective, transaction or claim value where relevant, key documents, and a small number of matter-specific questions. Progressive disclosure, not interrogation.
- 03
The lawyer starts prepared
Before the conversation, the lawyer receives a concise, structured brief containing the information already provided.
- 04
The human conversation takes over
The lawyer builds the relationship, asks judgment-dependent questions and determines what should happen next.
- 05
Concaso can support follow-up
After the conversation, the system could eventually help collect additional information and documents, organize the matter, identify missing items and support matter-opening workflows.
Intended future product direction—not functionality available today.
Client inquiry → Light pre-intake→ Prepared lawyer→ Human conversation→ Structured follow-up
Know enough to start in the right place.
The objective is not to give the lawyer a machine-generated answer to the matter.
It is to eliminate unnecessary information gathering before the lawyer starts exercising professional judgment.
Depending on the firm's configuration, the pre-conversation brief might contain:
- Prospective client and organization
- Who is asking, and on whose behalf.
- Concise matter summary
- A short explanation of what the client needs help with.
- Practice area / likely matter type
- Identified from the inquiry and confirmed through intake.
- Relevant parties and conflict names
- Names collected before substantive review begins.
- Client objective
- What the prospective client wants to accomplish.
- Jurisdiction
- Where the matter sits.
- Important dates and urgency
- Deadlines surfaced before the conversation.
- Transaction, project or claim value
- Where relevant to the matter type.
- Documents supplied
- Materials provided in advance where appropriate.
- Questions or information still outstanding
- What the lawyer may still want to ask.
Technology shouldn't get between a lawyer and a client.
Some parts of intake are administrative. Others are deeply human. Concaso is intended to help with the former so lawyers have more time for the latter.
Concaso helps make sure that conversation starts with useful context.
The lawyer remains responsible for
- building the relationship
- understanding nuance
- exercising professional judgment
- assessing client fit
- determining strategy
- deciding whether and how the firm should act
Your relationships. Your routing rules.
Law firms have established relationships, origination structures and internal ways of determining who handles an inquiry. Concaso should work within those structures rather than attempting to replace them.
If a prospective client enters through a particular lawyer's referral link, profile or relationship channel, that association should be preserved throughout the intake.
AI classification may help organize and inform the inquiry. It should not automatically override relationship ownership or origination rules.
Concaso organizes the matter. Your firm decides where it goes.
Intended to preserve
- originating lawyer relationships
- referral sources
- responsible lawyer assignments
- practice-group structures
- existing internal routing rules
- firm-specific matter acceptance processes
Different practices need different levels of intake.
High-volume plaintiff practice
Receiving hundreds or thousands of inquiries, Concaso could eventually support deeper qualification and screening before human review.
Relationship-driven corporate, commercial or entertainment practice
The pre-intake may intentionally consist of only a few questions and relevant documents before a lawyer speaks with the prospective client.
Light pre-intake ←→ Detailed qualification
The firm determines where it sits on that spectrum by practice area and matter type.
One intake engine. Your firm's logic.
A family practice should not ask the same questions as an entertainment firm. A plaintiff-side litigation practice should not use the same intake as a corporate firm.
Firms should be able to configure not only the questions asked, but how much intake occurs before human contact.
Firm configuration could eventually include
- practice areas
- matter types
- pre-conversation questions
- post-conversation questions
- conditional logic
- conflict information
- document requests
- depth of pre-intake
- internal routing rules
- originating/responsible lawyer preservation
- qualification criteria where appropriate
- consultation workflows
- matter-opening workflows

How does your firm handle the first conversation?
We are exploring how law firms balance efficient intake with something technology shouldn't replace: the relationship between lawyer and client.
We're looking to speak with firms interested in making intake more useful without making it less human.
Built from a real intake problem.
Concaso's structured intake technology began with a simple question: how much of a lawyer's first conversation is spent gathering information that could have been organized beforehand—and what could that time be used for instead?
The consumer Concaso platform explores that problem in disputes. Concaso B2B applies the same underlying idea to law-firm intake.
Concaso B2B is currently under development. Features described on this page illustrate the intended product direction and may change.
